Horticulture Minister Vidya Stokes revealed that the state government has decided to set up a multi-purpose food park at Shilaroo in Theog to harness the full potential of the area for growing cash crops.

The proposed food park would come up over 300 bighas with an investment of over Rs 300 crore. She said it would have units for food, fruit processing, agriculture market and other amenities.

She said the food park would generate multiple economic activities in the state. She said it would ensure good returns for fruit and vegetables growers due to value addition.
