The State Private Educational Institutions Regulatory Commission has directed private universities not to issue any advertisements of MPhil and PhD courses for the session till necessary approvals were granted by the commission. Regulatory Commission threatens to initiate strong action against violators.

Commission observed that some universities are issuing advertisements regarding MPhil and PhD courses for the academic session 2013-14. It said that till now these universities were not given permission to start such courses and thus it’s illegal, misleading and playing with the future of students.

Commission, in its letter to all the private universities of State said

“It has been observed by the commission that some of the state private universities and their sponsoring bodies were issuing advertisements specific to MPhil and PhD courses for the academic session 2013-14. These advertisements are not only misleading students but also a violation of the admission norms,”

Earlier, ABVP, student political body of BJP, had raised question against it and even filed a complaint against Shoolini University along with copies of advertisements and demanded action against it.
