Umang Foundation, a public welfare trust, is organising a Film Festival on Disability with the support of internationally renowned “We Care Film Fest” at Portmore Girls’ Govt. School, Shimla on May 27. On this occasion, Sudripta Roy, Chief Secretary, Himachal Pradesh will honour 25 meritorious disabled students and three ideal teachers for their outstanding contribution to inclusive education in the programme.

Ajai Srivastava, Chairman of the Foundation, in his press communiqué, said today that it is a first programme of its kind in the State in which more than 1600 students along with the principals of local schools and colleges, and senior officers of the govt. will be sensitized on disability issues through national and international award winning short films and showcasing the abilities of the disabled. Total 19 short films will be screened, and 20 blind and deaf girls studying in Portmore School with the support of Umang Foundation, will present a cultural programme.
