Local administration has ordered inquiry against the Verma Construction Company ‘construction company of Chopal legislature’, into the allegation of illegal falling of two trees near HP secretariat. Shimla municipal commissioner will oversee the investigation. Investigation team which had found two stumps buried under the muck again investigated the spot on Tuesday in order to find other proofs to tighten its noose over builder.

MC Shimla is also holding investigation on its own too, and it has also filmed the spot. Construction spot is very near to state secretariat and 85 flats were constructed here on 14 bighas of land. Forest department has already fined forty thousand against Verma Construction for damaging two trees.

Town and Country planning Minister Sudhir Sharma has ordered MC Shimla to carry out detailed investigation into it and if even MLA found guilty, he will be punished according to law, Minister quoted. However, on the otherside, Verma Construction Company owner and Chopal MLA Balbir Singh Verma has ruled out any violation from his company. He claimed that he had got prior necessary approvals from the concerned authorities and was working as per it.

Balbir Verma clarified that he doesn’t own the land, on which said tress were fallen and are about 100m away from his land. He also ruled out the allegations of illegal dumping and clarified that he had dump construction debris on his own plot and had informed concerned authority about it. He also blame some media reports for tarnishing his image and accused them for using wrong pictures of the spot. He claimed that the pictures, in which some branches of nearby trees were shown damaged, were actually cut by forest department itself. Even forest officials have acknowledged it, he claimed.
