Mandi by-poll: Congress hoping for landslide victory

Spokesman Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee (HPCC), Naresh Chauhan claimed that the Congress is heading for a landslide victory in the Mandi Parliamentary constituency by-elections.

While interacting with media at Shimla, Naresh chauhan said that the BJP’s claims of winning Mandi bye-poll were nothing more than living in fool’s paradise. He asked BJP to remember that the people of the state have already thrown them out from power just four months back and the Congress was now carrying forward the developmental agenda which was totally halted during the BJP regime of five years.

Naresh Chauhan said that the party had appointed several senior leaders as star campaigners for campaigning during the Mandi bye elections. He said that all the congress campaigners were getting an overwhelming response from the people in Mandi parliamentary constituency. He said that the charisma of Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh and Vidya Stokes too were effectively drawing huge crowds which were reflecting the public attitude in the constituency.

Congress spokesman said that the congress had already started the implementation of the promises it had made to the people of the state. He claimed that the party manifesto had already been made a government document and was being implemented in totality. The congress had already delivered its promise of giving skill development allowance to the unemployed youth of the state and had also started giving free travel to the students in HRTC buses. The party had already started carrying on with the agenda of development which had been totally halted during the BJP regime.

Attacking the BJP candidate in the Mandi parliamentary bye elections Naresh chauhan said that Jai Ram Thakur himself was not keen in contesting the bye elections and the BJP did not have any candidate against the congress.
