The 10-day monsoon session beginning at Shimla today is expected to be a stormy affair with the opposition BJP set to make political vendetta a major issue and the Congress all geared up for a counter attack using the alleged irregularities in the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association and phone tapping issue.

The BJP has already tried to take issue of political vendetta to the common people through its ‘Badla-Badli Virodh Saptah’ protest, under which it has hold series of protest rallies across the state. Now after the registration of cases against the HPCA, state BJP is likely to cover its face with the strong agitation inside the house. Besides pressuring Govt inside the House, the BJP has also announced its plan to stage a demonstration in front of the Himachal Pradesh Vidhan Sabha on August 23 to highlight the issues.

Even Congress has prepared itself much earlier and feed the press with more proofs over the alleged irregularities in HPCA and with all these revelation the BJP will certainly have much to answer on the issue.

Cases against BJP senior leaders can also take center stage in the house. Other issues like increasing prices of essential items, illegal mining along the state border, non-availability of subsidised sugar for the past more than two months and large-scale transfers of employees, will come in handy for the opposition to pin down the government.
