HPCA president Anurag Thakur was re-elected as joint secretary of the BCCI, consecutively for the third term. He is holding the post since 2011.

Earlier, the Registrar, Cooperative Societies, Himachal Pradesh has written to the BCCI against HPCA and its president Anurag Thakur and apprised BCCI about the alleged wrongdoings in HPCA. Registrar had informed the board that Anurag had converted the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA) society to HPCA Company without informing the state government.

However, despite the Registrar’s letter, Anurag was re-elected joint secretary for a further one-year term in Chennai.

Anurag Thakur has thanked the BCCI and said that he will continue working to promote game in the hill state. He said that the HPCA looking forward to give budding cricketers right kind of exposure and training at every level and working towards forming zonal cricket academies in every zone.
