The Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau has registered a case against former BJP minister Kishan Kapoor for allotting a residential plot in his name, out of the government’s discriminatory quota, while being the Chairman of the Himachal Pradesh Housing and Urban Development Authority (HIMUDA).

The state Vigilance and Anti-corruption bureau has registered FIR under section 420 and 120 (B) IPC and section 13 (1) Prevention of Corruption Act after state High Court some days back had passed the orders asking the bureau to probe the allotment of a prime residential plot near Dharamshala.

The Vigilance Bureau was inquiring into the allegations that the minister, while being the Chairman of the Himachal Pradesh Urban Development Authority had allotted a residential plot in his and his wife’s name in Dharamshala. Kishan Kapoor, who is one of close confident of BJP veteran Shanta Kumar, had remained the Minister for Town and Country Planning, Transport and Industry in previous government.
