Under the Skill Development Allowance Scheme-2013, a flagship Scheme of the State Government, Rs. 1.5 crore has been disbursed to more than 12000 beneficiaries and number of beneficiaries is expected to cross 22000 next month. This was stated by Chief Secretary P. Mitra while reviewing the progress of implementation of this scheme with the officers of Department of Labour and Employment.

P. Mitra directed the officers that efforts should be made to ensure that the maximum number of eligible youth were benefited under the scheme. For achieving this, officers of Labour and Employment Department had been directed to cover all training institutes such as ITIs, Polytechnics, Government schools giving vocational education in 10+1, 10+2 and to youth being given training by General Manager, District Industries Centre, District Manager, SC, ST Development Corporation, HRTC Driving Schools, Executive Officers of Municipal Committees, Nehru Yuva Kendras, Block Development Officers, Rural Self Employment Training Institutes and Training Institutes in private sector, he added.

He said that application forms for availing benefit under the scheme were available free of cost with all Employment Exchanges and can also be downloaded from Labour and Employment Department’s Website. Besides Helpline on telephone number 0177-2624209 had also been set up at Directorate of Labour and Employment.

Under the Scheme Rs. 1000 per month upto two years and Rs.1500 per month in case of permanently physically disabled was being provided to such bonafide unemployed Himachali youth whose name was registered in Employment exchange, he added.
