Udaipur: Sheli Project Sangarsh Samiti (SPSS) has accused Hydel Power Company Moser Baer for luring tribal of Lahaul-Spiti with free Chickens to get Gram Sabha NOC for its 400 MW Sheli Project.
Sudershan Thakur, Convenor SPSS, in his press statement said that, “Moser Baer Company people distributed Chicken pieces to poor villagers under Udaipur Panchayat”.
However, majority of villagers refused to take free chicken offered by hydel company officials. SPSS has said that they will submit urgent representation to National Commission for Scheduled Tribes (NCST) and Tribal Minister Govt. of India and Prime Minister of India and demanded that Ministry shall ask for a status report on the tribal in 24 hours.
It’s pertinent to mention that Moser Baer facing tough time to get NOC from local Gram Sabha for building its 400 MW Sheli Project. In the past as well SPSS has demonstrated and protested against the project and even approached state and centre Govt against the project and claimed that it’ll have adverse impact over the flora and fauna of the region.
