Dharamshala: The State BJP staged a protest at Dharamshala demanding the resignation of Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh. Veteran BJP leader Shanta Kumar attended the protest and asked Virbhadra Singh to resign from the post owing to serious corruption allegations against him.

Shanta Kumar asked Congress high command to intervene and advised them to force him to resign from the post. Kumar said that on the one hand, Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi was taking a tough stance on the issue of corruption, and on the other two of its Chief Ministers Virbhadra Singh and Ashok Chavan, Maharashtra CM, were facing serious corruption charges, but no action was initiated against them.

Former ministers Kishan Kapoor and Ramesh Dhawala along with party workers attended the protest and went to submit the memorandum to the Kangra Deputy Commissioner office, however there were no official was present at the Mini Secretariat to accept it, and therefore the party leaders pasted it at the main entrance of the Mini Secretariat.
