State wildlife dept to tag snow leopard with GPS

The Centre government has granted its nod to the State wildlife department to carry out a study of the highly endangered snow leopard.

To study the behavior of wild cat department will tag about half a dozen snow leopards by global positioning system (GPS) collars, official revealed.

The entire project is expected to cost Rs 25 lakh and its study centre will be set up at Kibber village of Spiti valley.
