Himachal to deal with duplicate ration cards strictly

Shimla: To deal with the duplicate ration cards in the Himachal Pradesh, Food and civil supplies minister G S Bali claimed to make all ration cards computerised and bring the details online.

Bali, while talking to reporters revealed that currently there are over 16.3 lakh ration cards registered and assured that after computerisation of entire data, the detail of excess cards will be known.

Food and civil supplies minister revealed to install CCTV cameras at all its depot to keep check on them. He stated that corporation is going to computerized its structure and details of food items will be made public on regular basis.

Minister also assured to check hoarding of food items in the state and promised to take effective steps in this regard. He also announced to deal strictly with the shopkeepers who don’t prominently display the price of commodities.
