SJVN registers six percent increases in net profit

During the financial year 2013-14 public sector SJVN Limited has earned a net profit of Rs.1114.63 crore which higher than that of the FY 2012-13 at Rs.1052.34 crore which is around 6% more than that of last year.

The Board of Directors of the Company in its meeting held on 28th May, 2014 at New Delhi has recommended a dividend payout @ Rs. 0.98 per share which is subject to approval of the shareholders in the ensuing Annual General Meeting.

The net dividend payout (excluding taxes) for the FY 2013-14 comes to Rs. 405.39 crore which is the highest dividend paid so far. For the financial year 2012-13 the Company had paid a net dividend of Rs.397.12 crore @ Rs. 0.96 per share. Earnings Per Share (EPS) of Rs.10 has also increased by 5.9% for last financial year the EPS was Rs. 2.54 this year it is Rs.2.69.

During the financial year 2013-14 SJVN generated 7183 million units of electricity against the MoU target of 6930 million units. SJVN has commissioned 412 MW Rampur Hydro Electric Project and 47.6 MW Khirwire Wind Power Project recently. SJVN has entered into MoU with Druk Green Power Corporation for the construction of 600 MW Kholangchu Hydro Electric Project in Bhutan.

SJVN has signed a MoU with five other public sector undertakings for the implementation of world’s largest 4000 MW Ultra Mega Solar Power Project in Rajasthan. As one of six joint venture partners we have 16% equity participation in this project.

SJVN is a joint venture of the Govt. of India and the Govt. of Himachal Pradesh with equity participation at 64.47 percent with Govt. of India, 25.50 percent with Govt. of Himachal Pradesh and 10.03 percent with the public.
