After security alert from the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) on the reported movements of terrorists close to the Himachal Pradesh’s border with Jammu and Kashmir, the state police have beefed up security along the border area of Chamba district.

Security agencies have alerted the suspicious movement of four terrorists at the Ravi basin and feared that they might have sneaked into the Himachal Pradesh.

Sanjay Kumar, Director General of Police (DGP), while interacting with media, said that as a precautionary measure, the India Reserve Battalion (IRB) has been deployed along the border of Chamba and patrolling has been intensified.

Himachal Pradesh shares over 200 kilometre of its boundary with militant-affected Doda and Kathua districts of Jammu and Kashmir and the entire border is manned by the IRB.
