Palampur: BJP veteran and Kangra MP Shanta Kumar has advised Union government to review the post of Governor in a wake of poor financial health of the country.

Former Chief Minister, while addressing a press conference at Palampur, said that the financial condition of the country isn’t good and thus Union Government need to take strong step to improve it.

Shanta suggested appointing only Governor for three states of Punjab, Himachal and Haryana at Chandigarh which he believes could easily serve the purposes instead of three state heads at three places, which will save crores of rupees of state exchequers.

He also suggested Union Government to review many other government departments at the Centre and states and advised to merge them with others, which will help to lessen the administrative burden on the exchequer.

Earlier, noted writer Chetan Bhagat had raised the issue when in his tweet Bhagat had advocated for the review of the Governor’s post instead of replacing Governors appointed by the Congress government.
