Himachal Govt. constitutes advisory council to promote industries

To boost overall promotion and development of industries in the State, the Himachal Pradesh Government has constituted Industrial Advisory Council.

The Council will devise a road-map for overall promotion and development of industries and will meet at-least once in every six months. It will suggest steps required to invite industries, measures for retention of existing industry besides examining constraints affecting the promotion and development of industrial enterprises in the State.

The Industrial Advisory Council will also be authorized to initiate required steps, review the policies and programmes of the various government departments in regard to facilitating the promotion and development and enhancing the competitiveness of industrial enterprises.

It will assess impact thereof on such enterprises; make recommendations for facilitating promotion and development and enhancing the competitive of industrial enterprises in the State.

Sachit Jain, Executive Director, Vardhan Group, Sudhir Mehta, Chairman, Torrent Group of Industries, Manish Pant, Managing Director, Luminous Technologies Ltd, Anil Kumar Raina, Sr. Vice President, Wipro Consumer Care & Lighting, and Rajeev Kshetrapal, Director, Indorama Industries Ltd., have been nominated representatives of Trade Industry and Commerce.
