Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh has announced to start a state-wide LED promotional programme for conserving energy.

Speaking at the state-level function to mark Himachal Day at Chamba, the Chief Minister said three LED bulbs would be made available to each domestic consumer at subsidised rates by the government. The consumers would have to pay Rs.10 per bulb per month for 15 months that would be recovered from the consumers through their electricity bills.

The Chief Minister claimed of concentrating on equitable and inclusive development of the State and Himachal Day is not only a day of rejoicing, but a day of introspection also.

The Chief Minister claimed of making overall development in past 68 years and the State Government is determined to lead state to the path of growth seemingly. He said

“It is our endeavour to make Himachal Pradesh the most prosperous and developed State of the country. We will achieve this objective with the cooperation and support of the people of the State”,

The Chief Minister honoured Dr. Raj Bahadur, Vice Chancellor, Baba Farid University of Health and Sciences, Punjab and Dr. D.S. Rana, Chairman, Sir Ganga Ram Hospital New Delhi with ‘Himachal Gaurav Puraskar’ for their contribution in the field of medicinal science.

Earlier, he also took salute from an impressive parade of contingents of Police, Home, Guards, NCC cadets and School children. The Parade was commanded by DSP, Puneet Raghu.

Vidhan Sabha Speaker Brij Bihari Lal Butail presided over the District- level function at Mandi. He claimed of welfare of common man has been the focus of the policies of the State Government.

Vidya Stokes, Irrigation and Public Health Minister presided over the District- level function at Solan.

Kaul Singh Thakur, Health and Family Welfare Minister presided over the District- level function at Nahan.

G.S. Bali, Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Minister presided over the District- level function at Kullu. In his address, Bali reiterated Government’s commitment of overall development and welfare of every section of the society of the state.

Sujan Singh Pathania, MPP and Power Minister presided over the District- level function at Una. While Mukesh Agnihotri, Industries and Information and Public Relations Minister presided over the District- level function at Shimla.

Sudhir Sharma, Urban Development Minister presided over the District-level function at Dharamshala in Kangra district.

Dr. (Col.) Dhani Ram Shandil, Social Justice and Empowerment Minister presided over the District- level function at Hamirpur.

Anil Sharma, Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Minister presided over the District-level function at Bilaspur.

Jagat Singh Negi, Deputy Speaker, H.P. Vidhan Sabha presided over the District level function at Reckong Peo in Kinnaur district, whereas Hans Raj Chauhan, Deputy Commissioner Lahaul & Spiti presided over the District-level function at Keylong, in Lahaul & Spiti district.
