Kotla Village

Kotla/Kullu: In a tragic incident, more than 50 houses and an ancient temples were gutted in a devastating fire at Kotla village in Banjar subdivision of Kullu district.

The cause of fire is yet to be ascertained, however there was no loss of life, police confirmed. As per reports, fire started around 5 in the evening and with no time it engulfed entire village.

A temple of deity Bada Chhamahu Devta was completely destroyed while an adjoining temple of Bhauni Devta is still engulfed in flames.

The rescue and relief team along with the locals of adjoining villages have reached at the spot, but houses were timber structures and fire is spreading quickly and high flames were hampering rescue operations.

The damage from the fire is yet to be ascertained but locals said it could run into crores of rupees.

The district administration ensuring providing temporary shelter and other necessary items to the affected people, besides giving interim relief.
