Shimla: Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh asked elected representatives of Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRI) to contribute in the development of the State.

The Chief Minister, while talking to the newly elected representatives of PRIs of Shimla Rural Assembly segment, said that panchayats were grass root level units in democratic setup and the development of the State could only be ensured with their active participation.

Virbhadra Singh said that villages were the base of development and success of any scheme and programme lies with the effective implantation of schemes with seamless coordination with PRI representatives.

He stressed on the need to work untiringly on the agenda of development for which everyone should work above all political considerations so that development of the state could be ensured in true spirit.

Chairman HP State Cooperative Bank Harsh Mahajan, Vice-Chairman State Tourism Development Corporation Harish Janartha, President State Youth Congress Vikramaditya Singh, newly elected representatives of PRIs were also present on this occasion.
