Shimla: Congress leaders said the BJP Una Conclave was a futile effort of a dejected and divided house to put up a brave face. They said that the all-round development in the State under the leadership of Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh has sent the State BJP in a panic and the defensive BJP leaders facing identity crisis were desperately trying to register their presence.

Cabinet Ministers Vidya Stokes, GS Bali and Mukesh Agnihotri, in their joint statement issued today, condemned the resolution passed by the BJP against the State Government in its conclave and out-rightly rejected it as a bundle of lies. They said that wild and baseless accusations leveled by the BJP were not going to help it as the people of the State knew very well about their dual character.

The Ministers said that it was unfortunate that the BJP was harping on negative publicity and its leaders needed the name of Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh to draw any attention. They said that the demand of the BJP for removal of the Chief Minister was ridiculous. They said that from the day one the single point programme of the BJP in the State was to criticize Virbhadra Singh. They said

“the BJP was using the Party Conclave as a platform to spread malicious and malevolent propaganda against the State Government as it had nothing positive to offer”

While ridiculing the allegations of BJP that no development was going on in the State, the Ministers said that it seemed that the BJP leaders was finding it hard to digest unprecedented development going on in the State. They said that State that the present State Government has ensured balanced and all-round development of the State. They said that welfare policies and programmes in the State have ensured welfare of every section of the society and development of every part of the State. The people of the State were happy with the performance of the State Government and the present Government was not only going to complete its present tenure, but would also win the next assembly elections.

They claimed that there was peace, progress and development in the State and the State Government was providing clean and responsive administration to the people. It was during the BJP regime that there was corruption, and rule of mafia in the State.
