Shogi/Shimla: Himachal Pradesh government is aiming to strengthen its education system and mulling to open Model Schools with all basic amenities and strengthened infrastructure to achieve the motive. Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh said that time has come to consolidate the existing educational institutions rather than opening more, barring in few areas with tough terrain.

The Chief Minister, in an annual prize distribution function of Government Senior Secondary School Shogi today, declared Govt Senior Secondary School Shogi as Model School and also announced to notify Ghannahatti, Sunni and Halog Dhami schools as Model Schools, on analogy of Port-more School, Shimla.

Singh stressed for filling all vacancies of teachers. He said that education was a key to success and development adding that it was more important to bring quality in education rather than being considered oneself as educated by uttering few words in English. It was important to be knowledgeable rather than having little knowledge, he said.

He said that just to pass examinations was not enough, a child should come in merit by scoring at least 95 percent marks.

Virbhadra Sigh also asked teachers to devote themselves completely for their students by providing them best of education and help the students in their personality development.
