Shimla: To ease the parking woes in the so called planned New Shimla, the authority has decided to open the basement parking constructed by people at New Shimla. Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh, after laying foundation stone of Primary Health Centre building at New Shimla to cost around rupees one crore, stated that New Shimla had fast expanded but hardly any space left for crossing of heavy vehicles.

The Chief Minister inaugurated a multi-level car parking in New Shimla to cost rupees one crore initially and facilitating parking of around 70 vehicles.

Singh also directed to widen the roads in New Shimla in a planned manner. He also assured to taken the mater of plying of tempo travelers up with the HRTC from New Shimla to Bus stand.

The water scarcity in the New Shimla is one of the biggest problem and the Chief Minister has announced to lay a separate drinking water pipe line for providing drinking water to the residents of New Shimla. The Chief Minister announced construction of modernized crematorium in new Shimla.

Virbhadra Singh directed for providing drinking water for residents of Deoli colony within 15 days. He said that whenever the government would consider to opening a degree college within Shimla, it would give added priority to open Girls College at Malyana. He also announced for construction of parking in SDA complex or some nearby place.

Urban Development Minister Sudhir Sharma, MLA Anirudh Singh, Vice-Chairman, HPTDC Harish Janartha, Additional Chief Secretary Manish Nanda, Secretary, GAD Mohan Chauhan, MD, HPTDC Dinesh Malhotra and were also present on the occasion amongst others.
