Shimla: Chief Secretary VC Pharka directed the Public Works Department and Municipal Corporation, Shimla to complete the work of broadening of old bus stand road near DDU hospital and construction of the rain shelter at the earliest.

The Chief Secretary, in a meeting of the senior officers at Secretariat today, directed to shift seven shops to the new commercial complex from the old bus stand where the work of broadening of the road was to be taken up.

Pharka disclosed that the work on expansion of 41 roads out of total 70 places identified in the Shimla Municipal Corporation area had already been taken up and the work on broadening of other roads would be taken up soon for which the government had released funds.

He directed the Commissioner, MC Shimla to construct hollow structure overhead bridge at Tara Hall School to facilitate the students and citizens. He asked the Public Works department and Municipal Corporation to complete the work on broadening of link roads in the town at the earliest.

Additional Chief Secretary, Urban Development and Town and Country Planning Manisha Nanda, Principal Secretary, Health Prabodh Saxena, Secretary, I&PH Anuradha Thakur, Commissioner, M.C Shimla Pankaj Rai and other senior officers of the state government were present at the meeting.
