Important announcement for the Engineering aspirates – the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released the application form of the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) 2017 on the official website. The JEE is an all India common engineering entrance examination.

The examination will be conducted on April 2, 2017 (Paper & Pen based exam) while the Computer Based Test (CBT) will be held on April 8 and April 9, 2017.

The last date to register for the examination is January 2, 2017, and fee can be paid upto 3rd January 2017.

In Himachal JEE Exam will he conducted in Shimla and Hamirpur city.

As per the guidelines, top 2, 20,000 candidates from JEE Mains 2017 will be eligible to take JEE Advanced 2017. For admission year 2016-17, CBSE had filtered the top 2 lakh candidates for appearing in JEE Advanced, the second stage of the entrance exam for admissions to IITs. The JEE Advanced examination will be conducted by IIT Madras on 21 May 2017.

All aspiring candidates of JEE Main will mandatorily need Aadhaar card number issued by UIDAI to fill in JEE Main 2017 online application form. The candidates will have to enter their AADHAAR number, name, date of birth and gender which will be validated with the UIDAI’s data. In case, these particulars do not match, the candidates will not be able to fill the application form for JEE (Main)–2017. The candidates will have to ensure validate their AADHAAR card, and any discrepancies shall led to the cancelation of enrolment. Applicants not yet enrolled for Aadhaar, are hereby required to make application for Aadhaar enrolment in case he/she is entitled to obtain Aadhaar as per section 3 of Aadhaar Act. Such applicant may visit any Aadhaar enrolment center (list available at www.uidai.gov.in) to get enrolled for Aadhaar.

JEE Main 2017 All India Ranks will be calculated without normalized score of class 12th marks now. Till the academic year 2016-17, JEE Mains All India ranks would be calculated with JEE Main scores and normalized marks of Class XII in a 60:40 ratio.

To qualify for admissions to NITs, IIITs or GFTIs, aspiring candidates should have secured at least 75% marks in class 12th exam or be in the top 20 percentile in the class 12th exam conducted by the respective boards. For SC/ST candidates, the eligibility criteria is 65% marks in class 12th.
