Baijnath: Keeping in view the tough geographical conditions of Chhota and Bara Bangahal areas of Kangra district, Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh today announced government Degree College to be opened at Multhan besides up-grading Bir Primary Helath Centre to Community Health Centre and Baijnath Civil Hospital to 100 bedded hospital.

The Chief Minister, while addressing a public meeting at Baijnath, said when he first became Member of Parliament, Baijnath was a part of his constituency and had an opportunity to visit every village of this segment and was aware of aspirations and ambitions of the people and its developmental needs.

He also announced construction of retaining wall for protection of the historical temple of Lord Shiva at Baijnath and upgrade G.H.S. Sagoor to Senior Secondary School, and G.M.S Ghorpith to High School.

He also assured to take appropriate action to address the demands of the people engaged in tea gardening. He also stated that land of the tea gardens would not be allowed to be used for other purposes.

Earlier, the Chief Minister inaugurated a bridge over Deol constructed at a cost of Rs.209.41 lakhs, Panchayati Raj Training Institute constructed at a cost of Rs.645 lakhs, building of P.H.C., Bandian Khopa and 33KV Sub Station at Chadhiyar. He performed Bhumi Poojan of link road Jamerala to be constructed at a cost of Rs. 205.71 lakhs.
