To avoid regular disturbances of digging of roads in future to lay down various types of cables and pipes on these roads for various infrastructural projects mainly telecom, sewerage, Shimla Member Parliament Virender Kashyap requested the Union Minister Nitin Gadkari to direct National Highways Authority of India to construct ducts alongside Parwanoo to Shimla National Highways.

Kashyap informed the Union Minister that repeated digging of roads causes’ lot of damage to roads which also creates disturbances in traffic movement and problem of transportation.

Shimla Member Parliament Virender Kashyap said that no such provision has been made in the ongoing construction work on Parwanoo-Shimla four laning highways and the portion of Parwanoo to Solan is likely to be completed in the next year but construction of ducts alongside the roads has not been proposed so far.

He said the issue of construction of ducts alongside of national highways and other roads has been repeatedly raised by him in parliament and various other forms and committees so as to ensure smooth running of the traffic and also facilitate various stake holders for infrastructural development.

Frequent digging for mostly laying cables alongside the roads causes’ traffic problem and even sometimes leading for fetal or minor accidents. Laying ducts alongside national highways or even along small roads would definitely a good idea that will not only ensure saving vital times and also help to avoid accidents and life of commuters.
