Octogenarian Congress leader Virbhadra Singh remarks against ‘Gaddi Community’ and followed with lathicharge at protestors has once again kicked up a political storm as after community’s protest opposition BJP has lambasted the statement and even demanded the Chief Minister’s resignation.

Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare, JP Nadda, in his press communique, condemned the statement and termed it unfortunate. “How can one of the senior most and experienced politician like him become so arrogant and insensitive? He has painted entire community in poor light in a desperate bid to demean and belittle the stature of his political opponent,” Nadda stated.

The Health Minister further said the indignation and anger of community leaders is understandable. Nadda said.

“He has always been condescending and arrogant towards his political opponents as well as his own party leaders, but in a desperate bid to demean and belittle the stature and position of political opponent, he went to the extent of tarnishing the social status and respect of whole community”

Nadda also condemned the lathicharge of Police against protesting Gaddi community at Dharamshala and demanded Singh to tender apology to the community.

Hamirpur MP Anurag Thakur also lashed out at Chief Minister for his comments on Gaddi community, and lathicharge on protestors. Anurag Thakur said

“Brutality on innocents, crime against women, mafia raj, all are at its peak under Sh. Virbhadra Singh’s regime. His remarks for the Gaddi Community were ridiculous and indeed hurt the entire community, however, the brutality shown yesterday by the police by resorting to lathicharge on the community members is unacceptable.”

He said the ‘nothing can justify the attack by police that left many injured yesterday at Dal Lake.

Accusing the Chief Minister for twisting and turning his statement, Thakur asked Singh to tender unconditional apology to the community.

Demanding immediate resignation from Virbhadra Singh, Anurag Thakur reiterated that the government has failed to mange the law and order of the State that has left people to take law unto themselves. He accused Virbhadra Singh for making a mockery of motherland and he must resign on account of his incapability and incompetency in running the State as its Chief Minister.

Senior BJP leader Kishan Kapoor had blamed Virbhadra Singh for insulting the Gaddi community. He stated that the Gaddis community will give befitting reply to the jibe of Virbhadra Singh at the time of elections.
