The State Education Department has created a class-wise, subject-wise list of expected learning outcomes for classes 1st to 8th called ‘Samprapti Soochi’ or ‘Learning Outcomes Chart’.

The Education Department spokesperson said that this document, in the form of attractive charts has been created using the NCERT’s recently released ‘Learning Outcomes at Elementary Stage’, and would be displayed on classroom walls for all key subjects and would define clear learning goals for each subject.

He said that this standardization of learning outcomes would help all stakeholders manage the student’s learning in a better way. The knowledge of expected learning standards for each subject and class would provide definite learning targets for students, he added.

The State is aiming to shift the focus from teaching ‘chapters’ to teaching ‘learning outcomes’ in the classroom, and hopeful that idea would to ensure grade competencies amongst the students of the state.
