The Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur promised no more mafia Raj in the state. The Chief Minister, while addressing a public meeting at Tattapani, assured that there will be no more Mafia Raj in the state and responsibilities will be fixed.

Reiterating his Government commitment to give zero-tolerance to corruption and asked common people to share their suggestions to function the state in better way. He said that to protect women from atrocities, the state government has opened a Guddiya helpline and hinted to create a special cell in all three Police ranges and the report of crime against women if any, will be submitted to the Chief Ministers office in 48 hours.

Blaming the previous government for derailing the law and order situation in the state. Jai Ram Thakur said

“We still can’t forget the rape and murder of Guddiy. The culprits were being protected. The BJP raised its voice to submit the case to Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), but the congress government delayed the case a lot. A Nepalese named Suraj, considered to be a witness was murdered in custody. The law agencies later handed over the spoiled case over to CBI. Same happened with forest Guard Hoshiar Singh”

Though, in his public address the CM has openly blamed the state agency for protecting the real culprit, but still there is no visible headway in the both cases even after the formation of the new government.

Congress burdened state with Rs 46500 crore debt

Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur blamed Congress led previous state government for burdening the state exchequer with Rs 46500 crore debt. Despite the financial assistance from the centre, the Virbhadra Singh government had failed to carry out development in the state, the CM further claimed. Targeting Congress led previous government, Jai Ram Thakur blamed former Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh for laying 40 to 50 inaugurations and foundations stones just before the election only to gain politically.

Blaming Congress leaders for befooling the people of the state as the foundation and inauguration plaques were later sent to be installed in vehicles thus starting a new culture of taking credit of development, but lastly in vain, he jibed. This is not the way to lay foundation stones and perform inaugurations, the CM quipped.

The people of the state has given befitting reply to the Congress in the state by throwing them out from the power. The Chief Minister also advised the Congress leader to accept the verdict of the people wholeheartedly. He said

“I know that there was still a pain being felt by congress leaders of losing elections, but they should accept the verdict of the people wholeheartedly”

The Chief Minister said that the unemployment allowance was also a disastrous decision of the congress government, adding that the decision also did not pay to them in elections.

I never dreamt for top post

Jai Ram Thakur said that though we were certain that BJP will come to power, but there many speculations as to who would be the Chief Minister. Similarly when the results were out, still there was not a clear consensus as to who would be the Chief Minister. The National BJP President Amit Shah in his speech at Thunag though had hinted of bigger responsibility to me, but believe me, I never had dreamt that I would be entrusted with the responsibility of serving the people as Chief Minister.

The Chief Minister credited this feat of BJP to the people of Mandi district, where congress could not even open its mark.
