Nauni/Solan: Himachal Pradesh Governor Acharya Devvrat asked scientists to research intensively on natural farming. The Governor in the 15th meeting of the Senate of Dr. Yashwant Singh Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry, Nauni today, said the scientists should realise the ill effects of chemical farming and contribute in Zero Budget Natural Farming (ZBNF).

Acharya Devvrat urged scientists to initiate research in Natural Farming. He said the Director General of Indian Council of Research has assured that the projects related to ZBNF would be approved. Council has also assured research work on natural farming on their end, he added.

The Governor said that development of agriculture sector was not possible without the help of scientists. While adopting natural farming, the scientists would have to do more work and research on preparing Indian seeds, analyzing organic carbon and researching friend organisms or beneficial insects, said Acharya Devvrat. He said

“we have seen the results of chemical and organic farming. Now, we have option of natural farming, which was practical and best results have been achieved out of it.”

The Governor said that agriculture scientists have proved that natural farming was the best by providing research data. He expressed satisfaction over the progress made in this direction in the university during last one year and directed to make more efforts in this direction.
