Kalka-Shimla train to speed up a bit

Shimla: Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur requested Union Minister for Railways Piyush Goyal to build commercial complex-cum-multi storied car parking on the land owned by railway authorities near old bus stand Shimla.

Parking could be used for parking by the tourists and as well as other vehicles. The Union Minister accepted HP Chief Minister’s demand and assured to construct commercial complex-cum- parking space near old bus stand at Shimla.

The Chief Minister also demanded to increase the speed of Kalka-Shimla and Pathankot-Jogindernagar trains in the state. He said that presently, the speed of rail on Kalka-Shimla was only 25 kilometres per hour, which needed to be increased.

He also urged the Union Minister to make the railway coaches plying on these track attractive so that more and more tourists could be allured to travel through railway.

The Chief Minister also urged to speed up the work on Bhanupalli-Bilaspur-Beri railway line.

Piyush Goyal assured the Chief Minister that speed of the trains on these tracks would be soon increased from 25 kms to 35 kms per hour and efforts would be made to further increase it up to 50 kms. per hour.
